Immerse yourself in the landscapes of Dorrigo and Bellingen on this 4-day / 3-night Waterfall Way Photography Workshop, designed for photographers of all levels. John Armytage & Craig Williams will guide you through the art of composition, mastering light, and long-exposure waterfall photography. You’ll receive hands-on tuition, personalised feedback, and optional critique sessions to help you refine your vision and take your images to the next level.

Explore Waterfalls & Rainforests

Over four days, you’ll discover why the Waterfall Way is one of Australia’s most celebrated scenic drives. Each day combines carefully chosen photography locations with opportunities to capture a wide variety of subjects.

Key locations include:

  • Dangar Falls – a dramatic waterfall near Dorrigo, best viewed in the soft highland light.

  • Crystal Shower Falls – where you can step behind the curtain of water for a truly unique perspective.

  • Hidden gems along the Waterfall Way, from misty creeks to lush rainforests, depending on weather and seasonal conditions.

Workshop Details:

  • Dates: 9th - 12th July 2026

  • Duration: 4 days / 3 nights

  • Group Size: Max 8 participants (min 4 required)

  • Fitness Level: Easy – suitable for a wide range of ages and fitness levels (note: October in Armidale can be cool, so bring warm clothing).

This workshop isn’t just about photography — it’s about connection. Each day includes time to relax over carefully chosen dining experiences at local cafés and restaurants (breakfasts and dinners are pre-booked to assure seating, Our lunches are flexible).

You’ll enjoy fine food while sharing stories, inspiration, and laughter with fellow photographers.

Accommodation & Pricing:

  • 3 nights shared accommodation (twin share) at Diggers Tavern, Bellingen

  • Single supplement available for private room (additional cost)

  • Price: $1,695 AUD

  • Focus Plus Members: $1,595 AUD

  • Deposit: $500 AUD (refundable up to 30 days prior, or if your place is filled)

  • Full Payment Due: 1st June 2026

  • Not Included: Meals, insurance, and transport

Cancellations & Refunds

If you wish to cancel your booking, you must advise the same by email. Payments are refundable up to 30 days prior to the tour commencing. No refunds will be available after this period unless you are able to arrange a full paying substitute.

Responsibilities

John Armytage Photography Tours is not responsible for any loss of travel arrangements - Airfares etc, equipment, luggage, money, or medical treatment for injuries sustained whilst on tour. Participants are required to arrange their own travel and medical insurance.

John Armytage Photography Tours reserves the right to cancel any tour prior to commencement. In this case, all payments will be refunded in full, however we are not liable for any other trip preparation expenses.
