PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP - SATURDAY 11TH JULY
SUNRISE PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION QUEENS LAKE
Queens Lake provides a stunning setting for landscape photography with calm waters, reflections, changing colours and beautiful morning light.
Throughout the sunrise session, John Armytage and Craig Williams will provide practical hands-on tuition covering composition, camera settings, filters, long exposures and learning to work with natural light.
There will be plenty of opportunity for one-on-one assistance throughout the morning.
WORKSHOP DETAILS
Date: SATURDAY 11TH JULY
Time: 5:00am – 12:00pm
Workshop Fee: $395.00 per person
Payment: is due at Time of Booking - Reserve My Spot
Maximum Participants: 12 Photographers
A minimum of 12 participants is required for the workshop to proceed.
Suitable For: All camera brands and experience levels.
Please Note: Breakfast at Roto House is not included in the workshop fee and will be at your own expense.
LIGHTROOM & PHOTOSHOP EDITING SESSION
After breakfast, we will move into one of the rooms at Roto House for a practical group editing session.
This session is designed to help you understand not only how to capture great images in the field but also how to bring them to life during the editing process.
It will be a Group editing session.
Lightroom Training
Downloading and importing images
Organising your photographs
Exposure adjustments
Colour correction
Cropping and composition refinements
Creating an efficient workflow
Photoshop Training
Removing distractions
Enhancing detail and impact
Working with layers
Finishing techniques
Preparing images for printing and online sharing
ITINERARY OVERVIEW
5:00am
Meet at Westport Bowling Club Underground Car Park, Port Macquarie. (CARPOOLING)
5:15am
Depart Port Macquarie and carpool to Queens Lake.
6:00am
Arrive at Queens Lake and prepare for sunrise photography.
6:10am - 7:10am
Sunrise photography session.
8:30am
Breakfast at Roto House (own expense).
9:30am
Lightroom and Photoshop editing session.
12:00pm
Workshop concludes.
TRANSPORT
We will carpool from Port Macquarie to Queens Lake.
All meeting at Wesport Bowling Club and Carpooling.
John’s vehicle can accommodate 4 passengers.
Craig’s vehicle can accommodate 4 passengers.
Depending on final participant numbers, an additional vehicle may be required to transport all participants comfortably.
WHAT TO BRING
Please bring the following:
Camera
Tripod
Arca-compatible camera plate attached to your camera
SD card inserted in your camera
Fully charged camera battery
Spare battery
Head torch
Warm clothing
Raincoat
Sturdy footwear suitable for uneven ground
Laptop with Adobe Lightroom installed and ready to use
Laptop charger/power supply
Important
Please ensure Adobe Lightroom is installed and updated on your laptop before the workshop. This will allow you to follow along during the editing session and practise the techniques on your own images.

A better understanding of composition and light
Improved landscape photography techniques
Confidence using filters and long exposures
Practical Lightroom and Photoshop editing skills

A collection of beautiful sunrise images from Queens Lake
Most importantly, you’ll leave with new skills, fresh inspiration and greater confidence in your photography.
CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS
If you are unable to attend, please notify us as soon as possible.
Refunds are available if your position can be filled by another participant.
John Armytage Photography reserves the right to modify locations, timings or activities due to weather, safety concerns or unforeseen circumstances.
If the workshop is postponed to another date due to weather - Funds will be held in credit until that date.
