ITINERARY OVERVIEW

Osaka & Nara

Begin in Osaka with sunrise and sunset photography at Osaka Castle, before exploring the cultural heart of Nara, capturing roaming deer, historic temples, and tranquil parklands.

Kyoto & Lake Biwa

Photograph:

  • Dawn light at Fushimi Inari Taisha

  • Traditional streets, markets, and pagodas

  • Sunset scenes in Kyoto’s historic districts

We also capture reflections at Lake Biwa, including the iconic floating torii gate.

Arashiyama & Mount Fuji

Early starts allow crowd-free access to:

  • Arashiyama Bamboo Forest

  • The surrounds of the Golden Pavilion

We then travel to Mount Fuji, photographing:

  • Sunset and sunrise reflections

  • Blue-hour compositions

  • The famous Chureito Pagoda viewpoint

Nagano – Lakes, Castles & Wildlife

In Nagano we photograph:

  • Alpine lakes and mirror-like ponds

  • Historic castles, including Matsumoto Castle

  • The renowned Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park, capturing natural behaviour in a wild setting

Scenic Return & Farewell

Our final days include scenic drives, relaxed food stops, a farewell sunset shoot, and a memorable final group dinner.

Deposits & Payments

  • A $1,000 AUD deposit is required to secure your place

  • Deposit is refundable up to 60 days prior to the workshop commencement date

  • Final balance is due 1 September 2026

  • Single supplement available at additional cost

Itinerary & Schedule

John Armytage Photography reserves the right to adjust the itinerary, locations, and schedule at any time to ensure the best possible photographic experience.

Changes may occur due to weather, light, seasonal conditions, access restrictions, or other unforeseen circumstances.

Cancellations & Refunds

  • Cancellations must be advised in writing via email

  • Payments are refundable up to 60 days prior to departure

  • No refunds within 60 days of departure unless a full-paying replacement participant is arranged and approved

Responsibilities & Insurance

John Armytage Photography Tours is not responsible for:

  • International or domestic airfares

  • Travel delays or disruptions

  • Loss or damage to equipment, luggage, or personal belongings

  • Medical expenses or treatment for injuries sustained during the workshop

All participants are required to arrange comprehensive travel and medical insurance, including coverage for photography equipment.

Tour Cancellation by the Operator

John Armytage Photography Tours reserves the right to cancel the workshop prior to commencement.

In this event:

  • All payments will be refunded in full

  • We are not liable for additional costs incurred by participants, including airfares, accommodation, insurance, or other travel-related expenses
