Step into the creative energy of Melbourne with this hands-on 4-day / 3-night photography experience. Guided by award-winning photographers John Armytage and Craig Williams, you’ll explore fresh ways to see and photograph the city’s eclectic mix of architecture, culture, and colour. This workshop is designed for photographers at any stage — from those picking up a camera for the first time to seasoned pros wanting new inspiration. Expect personalised coaching, constructive feedback, and plenty of time behind the camera to hone your skills and creative vision.

Melbourne is a city made for photography — a playground of contrasts where historic landmarks meet striking modern design. Each day brings a mix of iconic sights and tucked-away gems, giving you the chance to capture a wide variety of styles, from bustling streetscapes to moody laneway portraits.

Some of the spots we may visit:

  • Queen Victoria Market’s lively stalls & food

  • The grand State Library of Victoria

  • Flinders Street Station and Federation Square

  • Hosier Lane & AC/DC Lane’s legendary street art

  • Bourke Street Mall and Collins Street

  • The Old Melbourne Gaol’s heritage charm

  • The Crown precinct by the Yarra River

  • Melbourne Central and lesser-known laneways

Workshop Details:

  • Dates: 13–16 November 2025

  • Duration: 4 days / 3 nights

  • Fitness Level: Easy – no strenuous walking required

  • Group Size: Max 8 (minimum 4)

Photography is just the start of this journey — it’s also a chance to slow down, share ideas, and enjoy Melbourne’s vibrant culinary culture. While meals are at your own expense, we’ll arrange breakfast and dinner bookings so you can savour some of the city’s top-rated restaurants and cafés alongside your fellow photographers.

Accommodation & Pricing:

  • 3 nights twin-share accommodation at Oaks Melbourne on Market (4-star)

  • Workshop Price: $2,095 AUD per person

  • Focus Plus Members: $1,995 AUD

  • Deposit: $500 AUD (refundable up to 30 days prior or if your spot is filled)

  • Not Included: Meals, insurance, or local transport

Arrive Thursday, 13 November (check-in after 2:00 pm).
Depart Sunday, 16 November (check-out by 10:00 am).
