MERRIWA CANOLA & SUPERMAN BARN EXPERIENCE

Landscape Photography Workshop | August 2026

Photograph one of Australia’s most iconic rural scenes — the legendary Superman’s Barn — alongside the rolling canola fields of Merriwa at peak bloom.

Golden light, endless landscapes, and a truly unique outback location combine to create a powerful and memorable photography experience.

Join a small-group workshop designed to help you capture portfolio-worthy images while enjoying a relaxed, premium experience in regional New South Wales.

Canola Fields, Big Skies & Iconic Rural Landscapes

Timed for peak flowering season, this workshop combines the best of Merriwa’s canola fields with a feature shoot at the famous Superman’s Barn in Breeza.

Across the workshop, you’ll photograph:

  • Rolling canola fields at sunrise and sunset

  • Misty rural landscapes and layered hills

  • Leading lines through quiet country roads

  • Expansive farmland and minimalist compositions

  • Superman’s Barn at sunset (Signature shoot - Featured)

With a maximum of 6 guests, you’ll receive personalised guidance while working at a relaxed and enjoyable pace.

Superman’s Barn — A Signature Photography Location

One of the highlights of this workshop is a dedicated shoot at the iconic Superman’s Barn, located on the Liverpool Plains near Breeza.

This unique rural structure provides incredible photographic opportunities, especially at sunset.

Here you’ll capture:

  • Dramatic silhouettes against expansive skies

  • Leading lines through open farmland

  • Classic Australian rural storytelling compositions

  • Optional astro photography (conditions permitting)

This location is rarely accessed and adds a distinctive, memorable element to the workshop.

Location — Merriwa & Liverpool Plains, NSW

Based in Merriwa in the Upper Hunter, this workshop is centred around one of Australia’s best regions for canola photography.

We also travel to Breeza and the Liverpool Plains to photograph the Superman’s Barn and surrounding landscapes.

Each day is structured around the best light:

  • Sunrise sessions in the canola fields

  • Midday rest and optional learning sessions

  • Afternoon scouting for optimal locations

  • Sunset shoots in carefully selected paddocks

We adapt to conditions to ensure you are always in the best possible location.
