Experience New Zealand’s South Island in all its autumn splendour on an 11-day, 10-night small-group photography journey with award-winning photographers John Armytage and Craig Williams.

Designed for photographers of all experience levels, this workshop combines remarkable landscapes, personalised tuition and the time to work thoughtfully in each location. Whether you’re learning the foundations or refining an established portfolio, John and Craig will help you strengthen your technique, improve your compositions and develop your creative vision.

With only six photographers, you’ll enjoy generous individual attention, relaxed on-location coaching and supportive image-review sessions throughout the journey.

A $1,000 AUD deposit secures your place. The deposit is refundable until 60 days before departure, or if your place is subsequently filled.

This journey is also about enjoying New Zealand’s culture, food and the company of like-minded photographers.

Breakfasts and dinners can be enjoyed together at carefully selected restaurants and cafés, with meals paid for individually. Evenings provide time to relax, review images and share stories while experiencing the warm hospitality of the South Island.

TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS

📍 ARRIVAL — CHRISTCHURCH
Please arrive in Christchurch on 12 April 2027 by 2:00 pm.

📍 DEPARTURE — QUEENSTOWN
The workshop concludes in Queenstown on 22 April 2027. We will travel to Queenstown Airport after checking out at approximately 10:00 am.

✉️ Places are limited to only six photographers, with four places currently available.

Please Note

At John Armytage Photography, our priority is to provide you with the best possible photography experience while ensuring the safety, comfort and enjoyment of every participant.

From time to time, weather, tides, road conditions or other circumstances beyond our control may require adjustments to the itinerary, photography locations, accommodation, dining venues or schedule. Any changes will always be made in the best interests of the group and to maximise your photographic opportunities.

Cancellations & Refunds

If you need to cancel your booking, please notify us in writing via email as soon as possible.

Payments are refundable up to 60 days prior to the workshop commencement date.

Unfortunately, refunds cannot be provided within 60 days of departure unless your place can be filled by another participant.

We strongly recommend that all participants take out comprehensive travel insurance to protect against unforeseen circumstances.

Participant Responsibilities

Participants are responsible for arranging:

Travel to and from the workshop (unless otherwise stated)
Personal travel insurance
Medical insurance (where applicable)
Any personal expenses not included in the workshop package

Participants are also responsible for ensuring they have a reasonable level of fitness suitable for the workshop and for taking appropriate care of their personal belongings and photographic equipment.

John Armytage Photography accepts no responsibility for loss, theft, damage, personal injury or additional travel expenses incurred during the workshop.

Workshop Cancellation

In the unlikely event that John Armytage Photography is required to cancel a workshop, all monies paid directly to us will be refunded in full.

While we will always endeavour to provide as much notice as possible, we cannot accept responsibility for any third-party costs incurred by participants, including flights, accommodation, travel arrangements or other associated bookings. For this reason, comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended.
